Black Panther

Unless you have been living under a rock, that has been thrown in the deepest part of the ocean you know that Black Panther came out last week. This movie was a must see for me. I love marvel and I love black people. I purchased my tickets weeks before the movie came out. The anticipation was high.

The movie was full of beautiful melanated  people. The men and women were both georgous. The depiction of Africa was beautiful (#teamWakanda). We are so used to seeing negative depictions that it was refreshing to see one of beauty.

One thing that stood out to me about this movie was the strength of the black woman. Not only were there beautiful women but there were intelligent women(Letitia Wright, on of my favorite characters) and women with immense strength Lupita Nyong’o and Danai Gurira). Women stuck together in order to take down a “bad guy”. This spoke to me in so many different ways.

There are so many levels to this movie. So many things i can write for days about. So many valid (while “fantasy”) points, although this is a “fantasy style movie so many things in the movie are relevant to present day.

I don’t want to spoil it for those who did not see it, but if you didn’t please do. It is jam packed with goodness.   Beauty, Comedy, action, and even a love story. All I can say is… go see it!

Mad About Plaid

2018 Has started off pretty good. Almost the entirety of my year last year was for the birds… so much happened and mind was in a fog. Towards the end of the year things started to look up. I brought in 2018 with a new lease on life and claimed happiness, and I must say… so far so good. Minus me currently being sick ( occupational hazard of working with children, also I’m in the sickest state this year) I can say I am pretty happy.  What I learned from last year is, no matter how bad… it can get better, even if you can’t see it.

I LOVE this set I got from Shein.com I love it. The fit is perfect and makes me feel all kinds of sexy. lol I am wearing a Medium.
